Note, i havent been to all the places in these States on Lake Superior, just the ones I have written about, so if you have been to nice places on lake superior's coast ,on any of these states, feel free to write something and send it to me so i can put it up!

Minnesota's Lake Superior Travel/Vacation spots!

First off , Minnesota is loaded with nice small towns, and one very beautifull road following the shore up to Canada. If you want to see the Full Beauty of Minnesota's north shore on Lake Superior, i reccomend you spend as mush time as possibal if you have never been the the north shore before, it's a blast.

Duluth: Coming Soon!!

Wisconsin's Lake Superior Travle/Vacation Spots!

Superior: Superior is an industry town from grain elevators to the 2  docks that get the most ships in teh twin port's (Superior/Duluth) those 2 being the coal dock Superior Midwest Energy and the Taconite dock Burlington Northern.  So this is the ploace to go if you'r a boatwatcher, just frive over the high bridge from Duluth, MN and there you are, in Superior, Besides from haveing all the grain elevators and the coal and taconite dock, they also have Fraser Shipyards, the only U.S shipyard on Lake Superior witha drydock, and a shipyard. The noly other place with a ship yard is Thunder Bay, ON up the north shore. Superior has a long history of ship building, shipping etc.... I like going there because there is stuff to do, like watch ships, going in/out of the Superior Entry, and you can go to Wisconsin Point whiich is one really long sand beach that is shallow and fun to swim in the summer/ but it's very scenic, and fun. If your into ships, you will love Superior, or if you arent,  i'd say go out to Wisconsin point and spend a day on the beaches.

Ashland: Ashland, WI, is a very pleasent, layed back sort of place. That is why I like it, there is a nice hotel there to stay the weekend in. Ashland is cool because its a nice little town on the Lake Superior, Its not looking on to the open lake but instead in the distance you can see the Apostle Islands because it is below them, and Ashland has a cool lighthouse out in the lake.  It's an overall fun place to be!

Bayfield: Now this is one of those small towns one the lake you really take a likeing to. The reason is, its a nice small town overlooking Lake Superior and the Apostle Island's. And there is fun stuff to do! One being take a ferry to Madaline Island which has alot of history to it, or in teh winter when the Lake Superior is frozen, walk out on the ice to see really cool ice formations. It is a neat place!

Michigan's Lake Superior Travel/Vacation spots.

I will try to find pictures to match these places if i have them! If you have any questions about teh places listed , please contact me HERE!!!

Marquette, Mi: What can i say, a great small town in Michigan's U.P, i love the place, never gets old, great ore dock too. What can you do there you ask. There is plenty to do there, if you like wildlife you can take a drive tat loops through woods and it is really cool becasue there are deer and other animals you see most of the time. And if your into ships like me, you can watch ships load taconite at the LS&I ore docks in Marquette's upper harbor, there is one old one in teh lower harbor that ships dont go to anymore, and there is a power plant that ships do go to in teh lower harbor, but if your spending a weekend in Marquette and want smothing else to do, just drive towards Munising, Mi which is about and hour and a half or so east up the south shore of Lake Superior. along that way are beatifull sand beaches and cool rock formations along the shorline also. Overall Marquette is a great place to visit, take a weekend vacation to etc....

Sault Ste. Marie:  What a great place, my favorite place personally, between the Soo Locks to the mini-golf, it's a great place to be. What can you do? Wel there is plenty to do. You can spend a day watching ships transit the locks, get some great pictures. Or if you don't like that there is a street just across from the locks that have lots of really nice little gift ships from postards to a halloween store, they are really fun to visit, and there is a great mini-golf which overlooks the end of the locks going into Lake Superior, and they get pretty darn close. And if you do al. that i reccomend you drive to DeTour villiage which is about a half hour away on teh freeway or if you go that back roads it about an hour, very fun place, you can watch ships come into the St. Mary's River from Lake Huron, and you drive up more, it's a beautiful shorline with bay's and some islands. OOr if you've already been there, a great day if you have time to spend or want to get away from the SOO is drive to Mackinac Island, i love it there, no motor vehicals allowed, just bikes and horses, very fun place to sepnd the day at or a weekend, and best of all its only about an hour to and hour and a half to drive to and you just follow the freeway to it. If your into cool old ships, like ferty's and such, i reccomend the Arnold Transit Line, they have some cool ferry's that are older than all the others and they have newer ones also that get there faster, but its fun taking your time to get to the Island, beautiful water color. Or if you want a speedy trip to the island, i reccoment the Star Line, they are fast! And another fun thing is to drive over teh Mackinac Bridge. Another great spot is if you go up the shore no the Lake Superior side to Whitefish point, there is the Edmond Fitzgerald Museum which is always fun and they have a cool lighthouse. Great Vacation spots, never boreing.

Munising:  Munising is a cool place. When you drive in  to town its amazing because it is like one big hill surrounding the town, with islands and such. They have a really cool, old wooden lighthouse on one of those islands where you can take a tourboat to go see, and the have tour boats with glass bottons so you can see shipwrecks. i have never done one but I'd love to!

Keewinaw: I have only been there once and i was really young when i was there, picking up my Dad off the USGGC Sundew after bouy tending in Lake Superior, so i dont remember it to much exept being erally bored on our way there which is normal for a young kid. It is a cool place if you haven' been there, the Portage Canal is cool as well as teh Houghton bride.
